The Wastes

This area is a vast stretch of urban ruins and broken radioactive terrain to the North and East beyond New Carthage. Entire ranges of hills and small mountains that once characterized the region have been swept clean from one of Zero Day's errant warheads. What remains is slowly being reclaimed by nature, either as tangled mutant forests or vast tracts of blowing sand and ash.

Savage groups of nomadic wanderers brave the wastes, scavenging the remains of the civilization's past for the goods needed for survival. Beasts altered by the environment prey on unwary travelers, and strongholds of those who do not want to be found exist out in the radiated plains.
