looking for people knowledgable in forums, I started with PHP, tried SMF and am at the point of possibly being forced to hack my way into allowing HTML posting which apparently isn't very safe. How can I allow html posting/attachments of what seems to be would be basic html (no java etc) and filter out the useless shit which clearly wouldn't be in a log from CS?

any good coders who can help me get some automatic coverting to BBC to happen when people post in HTML would be greatly appreciated. Seems like I'm having issues just coverting html to bbc in a seperate site then copy/pasting it into my forums and still the BBC code doesn't seem to display it properly.

google sites is seeming much simpler now to me but then this isn't my area of expertise.

Just to see if I understood right, which I'm not sure of since I'm having a hangover, you want "something" that puts the HTML code of your log or whatever into BBC code?

Show me that site you are talking about...

to be honest I know most clients can 'copy in html' and it'd be easier to just be able to post into a log thread in html and have it automatically display raw code into how you'd see it on CS for easy reading.

or even to be able to attach .html files (.ink) but apparently that's a security risk. I'd like to filter out html java code etc for various reasons but mainly because we don't need them to display CS logs just mostly basic HTML but apparently not quite 'basic html' because it doesn't work with being limited to that either.

basically the forums are paid for, I can give access to anyone who is skilled and can help me out. I only did this so people can post logs easily instead of how we currently do it on the official forums.
