Two n00b questions

1.) What language is CS coded in?

2.) Does anyone have a good link to a tutorial site for said language?

I'd like to be able to contribute some code to CS, especially after reading some of the @ideas, there are so many good ideas buried in there. Anyway, any help would be greatly appreciated.
