Books! Novels! Reading Material! Oh My!

Post by jlaughter001 » Wed Oct 05, 2016 1:17 am

I recently re-read the Avery Cates novels by Jeff Somers. I've had the series for a few years now, although there's now another addition to the series that I haven't picked up yet. They're an excellent dystopian sci-fi, near-cyberpunk genre that is definitely worth the fun, easy read. It's not as heady as Gibson or anything, but the protagonist is a loveable scumbag of epic proportions. The series begins with "Electric Church."

In addition, a while back I picked up a book at a used book store. "Hardwired" by Walter John Willians, that was really enjoyable.

And lastly, I picked up--on a whim, totally based on awesome cover art--"Koko Takes a Holiday" by Kieran Shea. This was an awesomely enjoyable book. I'm not sure if there's sequels released for it, but this was an excellent Cyberpunk read.

Any recommendations on some good Cyberpunk material that I should digest?

That's nice to hear, I'm gonna look into that...

Now what do I have for you that you might not have read already...
Saga from Conor Kostick (it's the 2nd part of a series, but readable without the first)
^ Hoverboards!
Cosmo Hill by Eoin Colfer
^ Anarchism!

Dunno if you'll like them, they're a bit "young-audience" orientated... But at least it's something :D
GK-47 Protector opens a compartment on her thigh, draws out a mechanically, vibrating and surprisingly appearing 'life like' penis. She attaches it to her groin area and suddenly becomes a 'him'.
HackXIt says, "Whoever did that, THANK YOU! <3"

Excellent! I'll have to check them out. Some young adult fiction isn't bad, just have to be careful not to walk into that sparkly vampire trap, you know?
