This is something that everyone needs to understand because use of this feature over the past few months has been getting a little out of hand.
The @panic command is to be used for serious instances of game breaking bugs only. By game breaking, I mean things like the following:
Your character encrypts their decking icon and instead, it encrypts your character's physical body.
Every time you type a directional move command, your character is randomly teleported somewhere that they shouldn't be.
Your character puts a piece of headgear on, something simple that they've worn every day, and suddenly they don't have any eyes.
Jacking out of the matrix into a random location that you were not in/complete darkness/an obvious OOC area that you're not supposed to be in, etc.
Getting stuck in the Wargroundz vats/game areas/bodies because Wargroundz has suddenly stopped working.
Your character cannot move, fight, flee, etc. during combat and, instead of combat happening, the game throws tracebacks.
You log on and your character is suddenly in the middle of the sky, or your character's head is missing but they are still alive and walking around normally.
The @panic command is not to be used for the following:
Getting the attention of an admin because there aren't any visible.
Typos.
Asking to be removed from the cell you were put in for breaking game rules.
Telling us that we are pussies or "faggets" or that you're going to kill our families because we put you in the cell for breaking game rules.
Telling us that you can't log in because you forgot your password.
Asking why your history has not been approved.
Asking us why your character has been deleted and you have been banned from the game.
Becoming lost somewhere and not knowing how to get back to New Carthage.
Getting attacked because your player is someplace that they shouldn't be/did something they shouldn't have done.
You're in the process of decapitating someone and it's taking longer than you'd like.
Asking if the MOO is down. (HINT: If you can @panic, the MOO is not down.)
You walk into a law enforcement area with warrants and you get attacked/detained/looked at wrong.
Someone did something that you don't agree with.
Drunken rants.
To reiterate, @panic is to be used for instances that make the game completely unplayable. Not because you're angry or confused or lost or couldn't be bothered to read something you should have read or you're having a brain fart or a bad day or want to show us pictures of a dog with a puffy tail.
That about sums it up. Thank you for attending my TED talk.
@panic and YOU
