Drug$
Remember the drug interaction system where if you take certain types of drug at the same time you end up shitting out your liver and/or taking stat hits? No? Well it's been there for years, you should pay more attention.
RECENT RESEARCH SUGGESTS THAT a certain edible capsule-based drug that looks like a small gelatinous capsule, half red and half clear, filled with tiny blue and green orbs, has been properly categorised as a depressant. This means it should not be mixed with anything pink, apparently, unless you want liver-shitting-out-itis.
The whole drug interaction system will be reviewed at a later date to actually add liver-shitting-out-itis, until such time as this happens it will just be stat damage that does not persist through cloning.

The former. Later, it'll be fixable without suicide but generally won't be something that goes away on its own.
Re: Drug$
In the same sense alchoholl is. They make you disassociate from pain and such don't they?
Anyways the important part is your liver can only process so much of this stuff at a time without getting damaged, and the more drugs you take, the harder it is to process it out. Sometimes when you liver processes drugs, it turns them into other chemicals which are actually even more poisonous if they get built up.
Basically drug interactions are a long time coming from both a game balance and a realism standpoint.

Re: Drug$
We have had drug interactions for years. But many drugs were added and they just needed a few changes. We really should add side effects beyond stat mods. Constipation, diarrhea , upset stomach, anal seepage, dizziness, numbness in the limbs, loss of vision, rash, erectile dysfunction, high blood pressure, and headaches, but at least you won't have dry itchy eyes anymore!
Re: Drug$
Realism? Realistically, most drugs can be mixxed without issue. Most drugs only really do damage if you take excessive amounts, and with repeated use.Kunoichi wrote: ↑Mon Feb 25, 2019 6:40 pmIn the same sense alchoholl is. They make you disassociate from pain and such don't they?

But this is a game, and games need balance. In the old days, drugs were used to help bring weaker characters up to a reasonable level so that oldbies didnt just win all the time. The more you nerf drugs, the more oldbies will dominate any other character, and thus move the game further from balance
If you want people with max stats to win everytime, then so be it, they will. But if you want other characters to have a chance, let them use drugs to bring up their own stats.

Re: Drug$
Or people could, you know, not eat 2k worth of drugs every time they want to get into a fight without having some sort of consequence. If you want to chew on everything, please do so, by all means. Just be aware it isn't consequence-free.
Re: Drug$
I'm not sure why people are complaining, because all this does is make combat less expensive. You can still use drugs, just a more sane amount of them. And going over the top is still an option if you want to push it to the limit like a total badass.
The oldbies argument dosn't really stack up when you consider that oldbies can already afford more drugs than newbies, and will be stacking them on top of chrome and overcapped stat/skills. While the intended effect of giving newbies an edge is laudable, in practice drugs can become a combat tax that you have to pay before getting into a serious fight.
Sometimes CS can feel like that Cris Rock sketch about expensive bullets.

not to mention bumping up your endurance etc isnt going to stop you from getting beat the shit up by an oldbie or help you dodge their attacks.Kunoichi wrote: ↑Tue Feb 26, 2019 1:47 amI'm not sure why people are complaining, because all this does is make combat less expensive. the tricks to beating an oldbie as a group of newbies hasnt really changed
Re: Drug$
Implying that somehow drug use is exclusive to new characters and oldbies are living peaceful, drug free lives. News flash, drugs benefit everyone. Take drugs today!dicanomi wrote: ↑Mon Feb 25, 2019 7:27 pmRealism? Realistically, most drugs can be mixxed without issue. You can absolutely still use drugs to up your stats. Now you just have to make a choice between two in particular.
Technically you also can't smoke dryad whilst doing this either, but I'm not going to question that decision.
