Changes to CargoTec cyberlimbs, and other implants that have some kind of 'access' slot

Post by Timegrinder » Sun Jun 30, 2024 6:15 pm

I've updated limbs that have storage (CargoTec), the medical limbs (as they can hold drugs - from memory), and any limb / other implant that has a user-replaceable cartridge or insertable item that is used with it. - This doesn't include drug pumps or biogel based implants as, for example, biogel's not a cartridge.

The update is:

They now each have a specific body part that is used for interacting with them, for most of them it will be straightforward and be no change for what people are used to. This will generally be the body part that it's installed in. For others like the cyberlimbs, it will be the <largest> body part that the implant occupies (legs = thighs, arms = upper arms for examples).

Previously accessing the ports on these implants required the entire implant area to be uncovered (or lightly covered) despite all the messages referring to the highest body part (like 'shoulder' for the CargoTec arms).

While I've thoroughly tested it, this doesn't mean I covered all bases and there may be issues, so please notify me as soon as possible if you encounter something, even if it's just some weirdness, but please remember two things:

1) If the implant only occupies one body part, it will always be that body part, that hasn't changed
2) For larger implants, it will be the most logical 'largest' piece of the body it occupies.

So if you start seeing different messages, this isn't an error, provided the messages are still accurate, but you should still be able to use your commands provided the relevant part is exposed.

I'll get around to updating the documentation and IC implant info later to specify where the ports are on each item just for ease of reference.
